Malaysia makes a return to Cannes with its first ever short film, BLEAT! by Malaysian Director Ananth Subramaniam, and will compete at the 64th Semaine de la Critique.

BLEAT! is a 3-country coproduction, produced by Choo Mun Bel (Sixtymac Pictures, Malaysia), Bradley Liew (Epicmedia Productions Inc, Philippines) and Dominique Welinski (DW, France).

An elderly Malaysian-Tamil couple discovers their male goat, set for ceremonial slaughter, is pregnant. Torn between faith and the expectations of their community, they struggle to decide whether to slaughter it or face the wrath of the gods.
